This Framework follows an “Owned, Earned, Paid” framework for content promotion.

  1. Owned audiences – your email list and social media following. Even if you only have 5 subscribers, it’s the best place to start. As you continue down this path your audience will grow and will serve as the easier, cheapest way to get content in front of your target audience.
  2. Earned audiences – Google organic search and getting featured in the press (or podcasts). These also provide low-cost eyeballs, but need to be built up over time by building the right content on your website and reaching out to the right reporters for features.
  3. Paid audiences – You can get crazy with digital advertising, but we like to keep it simple. You only need to be advertising on Meta, and you only need to set up 2 types of campaigns to start generating leads.

As I just said, Meta (aka Facebook + Instagram) is the best place to spend your digital advertising dollars.

You don’t need to go crazy with your campaigns either. Meta knows exactly who you want to target (without you telling it), you just need to feed it the right content.

This is where it comes full circle. You simply need to feed it the same content from Pillar 1 and Pillar 2.
