Adding your first client
Create the client, set the website, connect data sources and apply a project plan.
A client in Agency OS is the hub for everything you do for them: tasks, content, links, the live performance report and the data connections behind it. Setting one up takes about five minutes.
1. Create the client
- Go to Clients and click + Add client.
- Enter the name and, importantly, the website. The website domain is what the report and the backlink matching use, so don't skip it.
- Set status, start date and service tags from the client card (the pencil icon on the header).
2. Connect their data
Open the client's Data tab. This holds the account IDs for GA4, Search Console, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, Meta Ads, Google Business Profile locations, CallRail, Local Falcon, the Ahrefs domain and organic social accounts.
The fastest way to fill it in is ✨ Auto-detect from Windsor, which pulls the accounts your Windsor.ai connection can see. Then click Save sources. If an account isn't listed, it needs to be connected in Windsor.ai first. See Connecting a client's data sources.
3. Apply a project plan
On the Tasks tab, click + Add and choose a templated plan (Onboarding, SEO, Web Design, Facebook Ads, PPC Ads or LSA Ads). It lands as a sprint with the tasks pre-built. You can edit the templates themselves in Settings → Project Plans.
4. Optional extras
- Create or link a Google Drive folder from the client card (requires Google connected in Settings → Integrations).
- Set up a Share link so the client can view a read-only report.
