Connecting ChatGPT to Agency OS
Add Agency OS to ChatGPT as a custom MCP app in developer mode, sign in, and test with "list my clients".
Agency OS uses the same connector for ChatGPT and Claude. Once ChatGPT is connected it can read your clients, pipeline, projects and reports, and make changes through the same permissions your account has. ChatGPT support is in beta.
Before you start
ChatGPT adds custom connectors through developer mode, on the ChatGPT website (not the mobile app). Which plans include it, and how much a connector can do on each plan, is set by OpenAI and changes. Check OpenAI's developer mode help article for your plan. On Business and Enterprise workspaces, an admin may need to turn developer mode on first.
Set it up
- In Agency OS go to Settings → Claude connection (the
/connectpage) and copy your/mcpURL. It's the same URL Claude uses. - In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. OpenAI moves these menus around, so if you don't see it, search their help center for "developer mode".
- Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create. Name it Agency OS, paste the
/mcpURL, and choose OAuth for authentication. - Sign in with your Agency OS account when prompted, then allow access.
- Start a new chat, click + next to the message box, and select Agency OS.
- Test it: ask ChatGPT to "list my clients".
What ChatGPT can and can't do
ChatGPT reads anything your role can see and changes things through the same permissions. ChatGPT asks before running actions that change data. Comments and status notes it writes in Agency OS are signed ChatGPT, so your team can tell them apart from Claude's. Keys and secrets are never exposed through the connector.
Prompts in the Agency OS Library work in ChatGPT too. Paste one into a chat that has Agency OS selected.
