Tracking proposals and follow-ups on a lead
Generate a proposal from the lead record, track it, and set the follow-ups that keep the deal moving.
Everything about a deal lives on the lead record: the booking-form answers, the call, the proposal and the next step. This guide covers the part after the discovery call.
The call is already on the lead
If your call recordings are connected, the discovery call and its recap are under Recorded calls. See Adding call recordings and notes to a lead.
Generate the proposal
Under Proposals & Files, click Generate proposal. The call context goes into the Proposal Builder with the lead already selected. See Starting a proposal.
Proposals from audits and analyses you've run are listed here automatically. To track one you built somewhere else, add it, set its status (Sent, Viewed, Accepted or Declined) and click Track proposal. Until a proposal is tracked, the section reads "No proposal tracked yet. Add one below to start the follow-up clock."
Send it
When the proposal is sent, the deal moves to Proposal Sent, with the proposal logged on the lead.
Set the follow-up
Before the call ends, agree on a decision date. Then add it under Follow-up reminders:
- Pick a quick offset (In 1 week, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months) or choose a date.
- Assign it to yourself or a teammate.
- Click Add reminder.
Open follow-ups show on the assignee's Today view, and on the card in the Pipeline.
Date of last contact
It updates on its own when you log a note or a call. You can also set it by hand. To log emails, Cc or forward them to your workspace address (Settings → Integrations → Email logging), or send from the lead's email composer.
